If you need to offset your completed captions to match a specific time code, or you want to move a section of your captions within your completed file you can do that using the Offset Time Code or Ripple Time features respectively.
Ripple Time
You can move a section of your captions to an earlier or later time using the Ripple Time option. Tap the “waves” icon on the right hand side bar of the Caption Editor and choose whether you want to ripple all captions, currently selected captions or a range of captions. Next either enter the amount of time you want to add or subtract from all selected caption segments in the “Ripple Time” field or set a start time for the first caption in the selection in the “New Start Time” field.
NOTE: Please be careful about overwriting timings of captions not in your selection. You will get a warning if you are about to overwrite any timings.
When rippling captions you cannot exceed the time of your media file.
Offset Time
Offset time is different than Ripple Time as offsetting applies to all your captions at once as opposed to a selection of captions. You can adjust your time code to any value you need.
To offset time go to the settings of the Caption Editor and enter the value in HH:MM:SS:FR and choose whether you want to add or subtract that value from the original start time.
