SyncWords will intelligently detect text, graphic overlays and human faces in your video and adjust the vertical caption placement automatically. For the time being the caption placement will only apply to SCC outputs.
To enable caption auto-placement select the option from your project page.
SyncWords will scan your media and move captions vertically to avoid lower thirds and other on-screen graphics. You can quickly see the results by opening your project in the Caption Editor. Great examples of when captions need to be vertically positioned are news or sports programming that have tickers or score information at the bottom of the screen. The default setting for autoplacement is bottom moves up. You can change the way the system positions your captions using your caption file settings. The Vertical Positioning setting can be found in the Advanced Options when you create your caption file.
Vertical Positioning Options
- Bottom moves up - captions will be placed on the bottom two rows and moved up two rows when lower thirds are encountered.
- Bottom moves top - captions will be placed on the bottom two rows and moved to the top two rows when lower thirds are encountered.
- Top moves down - captions will be placed on the top two rows and moved down two rows when on screen graphics are encountered.
- Top moves bottom - captions will be placed on the top two rows and moved to the bottom two rows when on screen graphics are encountered.
- Any Row - no specific rows are targeted for placement. This setting is best used for media that contains slides or lots of on screen graphics/text.
